A Safety Reminder
Posted 01/01/2012

Snowplowing Reminder

With winter approaching, the village will resume snowplowing as needed. The plow blade extends several feet in front of the plow truck, and often crosses the centerline of the road. To avoid vehicle damage, motorists should not tailgate or attempt to pass the plow truck. The truck may make sudden stops, travel much slower than posted speeds, and turn frequently. It also spreads deicing materials from the rear broadcaster, so motorists should avoid following too closely. Please remember that the driver’s field of vision is restricted by the plow and the salt spreader, so don’t assume that just because you can see the plow, the driver can see you. Have a safe winter!
